When Is The Best Time To Visit Ecuador

I am planning a trip to Ecuador and would like to know when is the best time to visit. I am looking for a time that will provide the best weather and the most enjoyable experience. I have heard that the dry season, which runs from June to September, is the best time to visit as the weather is typically sunny and dry. I am also interested in exploring the Amazon rainforest and am wondering if this is best done during the wet season, which runs from October to May. I am hoping to get some advice from those who have already visited Ecuador and can provide insight into the best time to go.
