MATT WEBER BIO

Born in 1983, the Chicago Cubs have only made the playoffs five times in my life. Being that I was one in 1984, and only six in 1989, I only remember 3 of those playoff appearances. In 1998, my Cubs were swept in three games by the Atlanta Braves. In 2007, my Cubs were swept in three games by the Arizona Diamondbacks. My point is, I’ve seen only six playoff wins by my favorite team in my entire lifetime (all coming in 2003), and we all know what happened that season. For some reason I torture myself every single year with this crap, and I guess that’s why I wanted to get into sports radio. I love torturing myself through Chicago sports.

When I got out of high school I played in punk rock bands, so the thought of going to college never really crossed my mind. I just worked awful retail jobs and kind of floated through life. After about 4 years of that, misery set in and I decided that I needed to do something I loved. It wasn’t easy leaving my comfy $40k a year job at Staples, but it was the best thing I ever did. I enrolled at the Illinois Center for Broadcasting in Lombard, and worked my ass off to get an internship at the only station I ever listened to. The Score. After proving to Mr. North that I could do the job, wake up everyday at 3am, and be a solid contributor to the show, he offered me the position as Associate Producer and I gladly accepted. I’ve been here ever since and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made. I work with the most talented sound man in the business, a lovely and talented Executive Producer, and on the funniest morning show in the city. What more could a 24 year old, semi-alcoholic cub fan ever ask for.

My favorite Bands: The Smiths, Morrissey, Alkaline Trio, The Lawrence Arms, etc., etc.

My favorite Movies: From Dusk til Dawn, The Godfather, Pulp Fiction, Seven, etc., etc.

My favorite Food: Pizza, Italian Beef, Spaghetti

I live on the Northside, and you can find me at any particular watering hole on any given weeknight.
